(KLZA) The Nebraska Department of Labor report for September indicates the state’s unemployment rate dropped to 3.9 percent in September. That is a tenth of a point under the figures for August and July.
Locally unemployment rates dropped in September as well.
In Richardson County the September unemployment rate was 4.7 percent, down 4-tenths.
Nemaha County has the highest unemployment rate in the area at 4.8 percent but that is a significant drop from the 5.7 percent rate in August.
Pawnee County continues to have the lowest unemployment rate in the area at 2.6 percent, down 2-tenths from the previous month. The Johnson County rate was down a tenth to 3.4 percent. Gage County was down half a percent to 4.1 percent and Otoe county was down half a percent to 3.5 percent.
Only North Dakota has a lower unemployment rate than Nebraska with a rate of three percent.
