( KMZA )-- Well known area attorney, and former Magistrate Judge, Steven Deiter has died.
The Sabetha resident died early Sunday morning at the age of 57 following a two year battle with ALS.
Dieter was appointed as a Magistrate Judge for the 22nd Judicial District in 2008 and then elected to same position in 2010. He served in the position until June of this year, when the progression of his disease took his ability to speak.
Prior to being appointed as Magistrate Judge, Dieter practiced law in Sabetha.
He also previously served as Sabetha City Attorney and a stint as Nemaha County Attorney.
Services for Deiter will be held Thursday in Sabetha.
