(KLZA) The Five Rivers Weed Management Area will host a “Weed Walk” near Elk Creek on Wednesday. The walk begins at 10 a-m at the Christen property located in Elk Creek.
Those taking part can learn how to properly identify and control Caucasian Bluestem.
This is a free event provided by the Five Rivers Weed Management Area with financial support provided through a grant from the Nebraska Environmental Trust Fund as well as administrative support from Five Rivers Resource Conservation and Development.
A free lunch will be served following the Weed Walk.
To get to the Christen property take the grave road from the northwest side of Elk Creek along the railroad tracks until in comes to 623 Avenue. Proceed on 623 Avenue about three-quarters of a mile and turn in on the east side of the road.
