(KLZA) Clarkson College and Southeast Community College recently formed an agreement to allow students enrolled in SCC’s Radiologic Technology program to concurrently pursue an online bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging at Clarkson College.
The RT students are eligible to enroll in the Medical Imaging program at Clarkson College after successfully completing one year of the associate degree program at SCC.
Clarkson College will grant the students credit for the relevant coursework they completed in the RT program. This transfer process allows SCC students to earn their Medical Imaging degree after completing just 12 classes at Clarkson College.
The primary benefit of earning the bachelor’s degree is the opportunity to specialize in post-primary areas such as computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, mammography, imaging informatics, angiography, and bone densitometry. Additionally, Collins said the dual degree will significantly increase the marketability and career options available to SCC students upon entering the workforce.
If simultaneously pursuing both degrees is not feasible, SCC students may wait to enroll in the bachelor’s degree program until they have fully completed the RT program at SCC and earned their ARRT certification.
For more information about this agreement or about SCC’s Radiologic Technology program, contact Kelly Findley at 402-437-2777 or kfindley@southeast.edu.
