( KNZA )--A two-vehicle accident in a construction zone on U-S 73 Highway west of Atchison Thursday afternoon sent a Potter man to the hospital.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 37-year-old Johnny Young Hogue was traveling west when he stopped for the flagger. The patrol says a minivan driven by 40-year-old Roger Allen Cook of Leavenworth failed to slow, striking the rear of Hogue's pickup.
Hogue was transported to the Atchison Community Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Cook was not hurt.
The Patrol says Hogue was wearing a seat belt and Cook was not.
The accident was reported around 2:10 Thursday afternoon.
