( KMZA )--Wind turbines constructed in Nemaha County ( Ks ) will now face a requirement on how close they can be located to a house or property line.
The Nemaha County Commission Monday approved a resolution drafted by County Attorney Brad Lippert establishing the setback requirements.
Under the requirements, any wind turbine built in the county must be three-thousand feet from a home and 15-hundred feet from any property lines.
The setbacks can be waived if all parties affected by the location of a proposed wind turbine sign off on it.
A group of residents concerned about a proposed wind farm in the northeastern portion of the county requested that the county establish the setback requirements.
