(KTNC) - The Auburn City Council approved the 2012-13 Fiscal Year Budget during a special hearing Friday evening.
Mayor Scott Kudrna says the budget was approved as presented with a couple exceptions. One, he says, involves $200,000 that had been earmarked for the S Street paving project. (play audio :40)
The City of Auburn was considering placing cameras around town as an additional crime-fighting tool for the Police Department. (play audio :17)
The budget was approved unanimously. Auburn’s property tax levy will remain unchanged from last year, and will result in a little more than $578,000 in revenue to the city, an increase of about $4,300.
The Auburn Council also narrowly approved the salary ordinance on a 3-2 vote. Mayor Kudrna explains the discussion. (play audio :45)
The salary ordinance calls for a two-percent increase for all full-time and permanent part-time city employees, and no adjustment for seasonal employees.
