Red Flag Warning in Effect Tuesday Afternoon
09/11/2012

(KTNC) - A Red Flag Warning is in effect for southeast Nebraska this (Tuesday) afternoon.
The National Weather Service says the combination of gusty southerly winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures will create dangerous fire conditions across the area this afternoon.
Winds are forecast to reach 15-to-25 miles per hour, with gusts up to 30-to-35 miles per hour.  Humidity levels are expected to fall into the upper teens or lower 20s.
In addition, the Grassland Fire Danger Index will be in the Extreme category this afternoon.
Any fires that develop could spread rapidly,  Outdoor burning is not recommended.
