Brown Co Humane Society Offers Assistance
08/27/2012

(KNZA)--The Brown County Humane Society's annual fund-raising softball tournament pays off, earning the organization the monies needed to make animal transport possible.

The tournament, held in June, was organized to provide the organization with the funds necessary to purchase a van so that rescued dogs can be taken to new homes outside the area.

Board President Phyllis Shaefer says due to the success of the tournament, the van has now been purchased(Play Audio)

The Brown County Humane Society plans to continue the softball tournament fund-raiser next summer.

Meanwhile the organization is offering support to local pet owners who need to spay or neuter the family dog, but can't afford it.

Shaefer says vouchers are again being made available for those who qualify(Play Audio)

Shafer says anyone needing the assistance should simply contact her(Play Audio)

The funding that provides, and supports,  the spay and neutering vouchers are made possible through the contribution of an anonymous donor.
