Former Sabetha Officer Waives Preliminary Hearing

( KNZA )--A former Sabetha police officer charged with distribution of methamphetamine and official misconduct waives his preliminary hearing

Ryan Bruggeman was bound over to Nemaha County District Court Tuesday on the felony charges.

Arraignment was set for October 24th ( 1 p.m. )

Bruggeman was arrested in May following an investigation by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

According to court documents, the alleged crimes occurred on December 19th, 2010.  The documents indicate the meth was allegedly taken from police evidence.

Bruggeman was an officer with the Sabetha Police Department from June 2009 through April of last year.

He remains free on $150,000 bond.
