New Sport to be Offered this Fall at Mound City School
08/20/2012

(KTNC) - A new sport is being offered this fall in the Mound City School District.  The School Board last week voted to start a girls’ Cross Country team.
Superintendent Ken Eaton explains that the decision was made to offer the sport as a way for the district to meet its obligations under Title 9.  (play audio  :54)
Eaton says the board settled on adding Cross Country due to the relatively modest costs in starting a program.  He says the team will use the school’s track and field uniforms.  Travel expenses should be relatively low also, as Mound City is looking to compete in meets in Rock Port, Tarkio, and St. Joseph this fall.
Eaton will serve as head coach of the Mound City Cross Country team this fall.
