Preston Road Project Update
08/08/2012

(KLZA) It appears that the earliest start date for the hard surfacing of a 4-mile stretch of the Preston Road in Richardson County will be the spring of 2013.
Richardson County Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert told Richardson County Commissioners that Larry Legg with the Nebraska Department of Roads, had been working out details on the funding and working with the railroad before the project can go to bid.
Huppert is hopeful to let bids in September of this year.  The project calls for an 8-inch deep cement road from Highway 159 south for four miles. Richardson County is anticipating the County Share of the Work to be around $300,000.
Legg was scheduled to attend Tuesday’s Richardson County Commission meeting but did not.
