(KNZA)--A special meeting of the Horton City Commission Monday focuses on the budget for the next fiscal year; and, by the time the session concludes, the Commission decides upon a budget that includes a mill levy increase.
The finalized figure is 69.641, which is an increase of 3.809 mills from the current year's budget.
The increase, which amounts to an additional 21-dollars and 90-cents from the property tax of a 50-thousand-dollar home, would mean an increase of 24-thousand-146-dollars for the city.
A public hearing, focused on the proposed budget, will be held at 5:15, on the evening of August 20th, at Horton City Hall.
