( KNZA )- An elderly Hiawatha man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at the Brown County Landfill Friday afternoon.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 83-year-old Donald Barnes was outside his Dodge Dakota pickup paying at the landfill scales when his pickup began rolling backwards. Barnes attempted to catch the vehicle and was knocked down. The vehicle ran over one of arms and continued north into a big ditch. Barnes was taken to the Hiawatha Community Hospital.
The accident was reported around 3:30 Friday afternoon.
