( KMZA )--The Nemaha County ( Ks ) Commission has approved the purchase of a truck for the solid waste department.
Following discussion with Solid Waste Supervisor Dennis Ronnebaum Monday, the commission approved the purchase of a 2003 Sterling truck from Midwest Ag of Seneca for $27,000. The commission also approved the purchase of a roll-off frame for the truck from Midwest Truck Equipment at a cost not to exceed $33,000.
In other business, County Noxious Weed and Emergency Preparedness Director Todd Swart submitted his 2013 budget requests.
He’s requesting the same amount as he received this year for both, $279,926 for the noxious weed department and $35,400 for emergency preparedness.
Representatives of the Northeast Kansas Enterprise Facilitation met with commissioners to request funding for 2013. The organization is requesting 21-hundred dollars for 2013, which is an $100 increase from what was approved by the county for this year. Director Teresa McAnerny says the increase is due to the loss of some state funding.
Commissioners will consider the requests when working on the 2013 budget.
