Unemployment Rates Climb in Southeast Nebraska

( KLZA)  Unemployment for the month of June was down one-tenth of a percent in Nebraska.  However,  in six extreme Southeast Nebraska counties the unemployment rate went up for the  month.
Nemaha County, Nebraska had the biggest jump in unemployment, up 1.1 percent to 6.5 percent.  That ranks as the second highest unemployment rate in the state for June behind only the 8.4 percent rate in Thurston County.
Richardson County has the third highest unemployment rate in the state for June at 5.6 percent.  That figure is 3 – tenths of a point higher than in May.
In Pawnee County the unemployment rate for June was three percent,  up a tenth of a point;  Johnson County had a 3.3 percent unemployment rate which was up 7  - tenths for the month.
In Gage County the rate for June was up 2-tenths to 4.1 percent and in Otoe County the rate climbed 3-tenths of a percent to 4.1 percent.
