Steamboat Trace Trail Finally Open
07/20/2012

KLZA - Officials at the Nemaha Natural Resources District announced Thursday,  that the Steamboat Trace trail between Nebraska City and Brownville is once again open for its entire 22 miles.
Following the devastating floods that scoured the trail’s surface last year, Kreifels Conservation & Excavating from Nebraska City has completed their contract to restore the crushed rock limestone surface on the south half of the trail, which has been closed for the past year. In addition NRD crews have been busy working on bridges and other maintenance items along the scenic hiking and biking trail that parallels the Missouri River.
For more information about the Steamboat Trace, contact the Nemaha NRD at 402-335-3325 or check our website at www.nemahanrd.org.
