The Nebraska Phi Beta Lambda chapter did well at the recent National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas with six first place finishes and two members selected for national offices.
Three Peru State College students led the Nebraska PBL chapter winning three first place awards among the six won by Nebraska members.
Will Fogle of Peru State was the winner in Cyber Security,  Kesha Beethe from Tecumseh won in job interview and Alex Klippert from Windsor, Ontario, Canada who resides in Hamburg, Iowa won in Justice Administration.  
Peter Raun, a University of Nebraska student from Minden was elected Mountain Plains Vice President and Amber Kutnink, a Wayne State student from Cambridge was appointed as the national parliamentarian.  Both are in their third year as PBL officers in Nebraska. 
    Winning fourth place honors for their Community Service Project were Peru State students Kesha Beethe from Tecumseh, Mary Ellen Martin of St. Libory and Jamie Theye from Odell.
    Nathan Allgood from Auburn who attends the University of Nebraska at Lincoln palced fourth in Project Management.
    Earning fifth place finishes were Will Fogle of Peru in Networking Concepts, and Andrew Conn of Wausa a PSC Student in Sales Presentation.  Conn also placed tenth in the Job Interview category.
    Peru State students Mallory Lempka of Cook, and Andrew Staudt of Westminster, Colorado placed seventh in Small Business Management Plan.
    Sara Wellman of Syracuse placed ninth in Future Business Executive.  Wellman attends Nebraska Wesleyan University.
    John Beal of Auburn, a PSC student placed 10th in Business Law.
    Tiffany Mewes-Dunn of Wymore, a UNL student was recognized for serving on the Mountain Plains Regional Action Council. 
    Peru State College Advisers recognized were Sheri Grotrian-Ryan as Nebraska’s Outstanding Advisor and Ted Harshbarger from Humboldt who earned third in Professional Division’s Current Business Topics competition. In addition Harshbarger, Nebraska PBL’s State Adviser, was recognized for having been elected to a three-year term on FBLA-PBL’s National Board of Directors, representing the Mountain Plains Region.
    The Peru State College Chapter and North Platte Community College Chapter were recognized as Gold Seal Chapters of Merit.
