Richardson County Commissioners Meet

Richardson County Commissioners awarded a bid for an armor coating project to Sta-Bilt at a bid price of $323,621.  The bid is for 13.2 miles of work.
    The Board reviewed a bid for the purchase of a crane but voted to continue to table the bids received until inspection of the machines being considered is completed.  Bids for the asphaltic overlay project will be continued until next weeks meeting.
    A request from Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert to fill the vacant position of motor grader operator with Larry Schuetz  was approved.
    Commissioners gave favorable comment to a request for a special designated liquor license for the Falls City Area Jaycees tractor pull and demolition derby on August 3rd and 4th.  Following a public hearing drawing no comment the Board gave favorable comment to an application for a catering license to the current class C liquor license to Vernon Buckminster, owner of Buck’s Roadhouse south of Falls City.
    County Attorney Bob Meyer requested utilization of STOP Program Funds to purchase radar equipment for the Falls City Police Department.  The request was unanimously approved. 
    Emergency Management Director Jim Gerweck and Deputy Director Roger Goos met with Commissioners to review procedures of the nuclear drill training and expectations of upcoming drills.
