It's one commemoration after another planned for the Fourth of July, as local communities celebrate the nation's Independence on Wednesday. 

In Robinson, the day will begin with a pancake feed, running from 7 to 1:00, followed by numerous other activities, including the annual Nail Keg Derby, a 4:00 parade, and an ice cream social at 5:00. 

Fireworks will be launched at dusk. 

Also in Brown County, a full day celebration will again be held in Horton, as the annual fishing derby, featuring five age categories, will be held. 

Paul McLenon, of the Horton Lions Club, says the event brings out numerous local families, who then await the fireworks grand finale at dark: 

Centralia will have a 4th of July celebrations including free swimming in the

city pool from 1:00 to 6:30PM. At 3:00 there will be ice cream and a BBQ in

the park. At 4:00 register for the pedal tractor pull and at 7:00 there will be a

parade. Fireworks start at dusk at the lake.

Bern will celbrate the holiday with inflatables and games from 6 until 9:00 in the evening, along with a barbecue, running from 6:30 until 8:30. 

The Nemaha County Has Talent talent contest will be held from 7 to 8:30. 

A Color Guard-Veteran recognition is also planned, leading up the fireworks at dark. 

Doniphan County communities are also set to celebrate, as Highland will hold a parade beginning at 11:00 on the 4th of July morning, followed by kids games on Main Street starting at 1:00. 

The Highland Community College ice cream social begins at 7:00, with fireworks to be launched at dusk. 

The Troy Lions Club will also host their annual, day long celebration, starting with a Doniphan County 4-H sponsored breakfast from 7 to 10:00 Wednesday morning, held on the 4-H grounds in Troy. 

At 8:00, a 5K run walk begins, followed by a 3 on 3 basketball tournament at 9:00, for a $5.00 entry fee. 

From 10 until noon, a fishing derby will happen at the 4-H pond, sponsored by Troy Pride, while free swimming will be offered in the Troy pool from 10 to 2:00.

Recognition of the Vietnam era veterans begins at 3:30, followed by the Independence day parade on Main Street. 

Following a number of other day long activities, the sights and sounds of fireworks will fill the night sky beginning at dusk. 

Humboldt, Nebraska, is also ready for an afternoon of 4th of July fun, with fire truck rides running from 3 until 4:00; childrens games, a barbecue and ice cream social beginning at 5:00; entertainment by the Happy Czecks, along with a Bohemian tractor pull at 7:00; and the largest free fireworks display in Southeast Nebraska beginning at dark, sponsored by the Humboldt Volunteer Fire Department.
