The deadline for Kansas candidates seeking state and federal offices was noon Monday; and, following a rush to the Secretary of State’s Office, those seeking election is now finalized.
That includes a local candidate who decided to withdraw from his race.
Doctor David Allen, of Soldier, had previously filed for the 50th House District; but now, with that changed to the 61st, bringing an additional candidate to the race, Allen has dropped out.
His name remained on file prior to the noon hour filing, and was then removed.
That’s confirmed by the Kansas Secretary of State’s Office.
Allen has not been available to comment on his decision.
