Doniphan County Beats Royal Valley for 2nd Legion Win this Year

In the only Northeast Kansas League Legion baseball game last night it was Doniphan County earning their second win of the season as they took down Royal Valley at home, 12-4 in five innings.

Colton Masters, pitched all five innings for Doniphan County earning the win only allowing five Royal Valley hits, giving up four runs with only two being earned; Masters also managed to strikeout seven in his five innings of work.

The offense got it done on the base pads for Doniphan County pounding out 16 total hits with multi-hit games from Zach and Paden Halter, Cody Bennett, Derek Nold and Dalton Simpson. Bennett also finished the night with three RBI's to his credit.

With the win Doniphan County is 2-6 on the season and 1-2 in league play; while Royal Valley is 2-4 and 0-3 in league with both their wins coming back in the NEK League Preseason tournament this past weekend.

Both teams will hit the diamond tonight along with the other six NEK League teams. Doniphan County will be on the road at Holton at 8:00pm (Jr. Legion before at 6:00pm), while Royal Valley is slated for a double header on the road against Hiawatha (6:00 & 8:00pm). Seneca and Sabetha will meet up in a rematch of the NEK League preseason tournament championship game this past Sunday; it's a double header tonight at Somerset park 6:00 and 8:00pm (6:00pm game can be heard on Kanzaland radio-- 103.9 KNZA & 92.1 KMZA, also online-- click here). Rounding out the action tonight Frankfort will be on the road at Atchison at 7:30pm.
