Retirement Reception Sunday for USD 113 Superintendent
Prairie Hills USD 113 is inviting the public to a retirement reception in honor of Superintendent Dennis Stones and his 37 years in education. The event will be Sunday, June 10th from 2 – 4 PM at the Sabetha Middle School. Refreshments will be served. Stones, a native of Sabetha, has been Superintendent for USD 113 since 2010 and prior to the consolidation served as superintendent for USD 441 since 1999. He also served as Sabetha High School principal from 1992-1996 and assistant Superintendent from 1996 to 1999. Prior to returning to Sabetha, Stones was a high school principal in Madison, Kansas for two years; grades 7-12 principal for 5 years in Kremlin, Oklahoma; and a teacher and coach for 10 years in Nebraska.
Stones has received several awards---including the USA Kansas Outstanding Service Award in 2010, Kansas Association of School Boards Distinguished Service Award in 2010 and Works of Wonder Award in 2006 from Heartspring in Wichita.
