A fourth candidate has filed for Jackson County Sheriff.
Cory Shields of Holton filed today ( Friday ) before the noon filing deadline.
Shields, who previously worked for the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, was an unsuccessful write-in candidate for sheriff in the late 1990’s.
Shields joins Jim Honn of Holton and Robert “ Bob” McNicholas of Netawaka in seeking the Republican nomination.
The winner will face current sheriff, Democrat Tim Morse ,during the August primary.
