Citizens of Valley Falls will have a new opportunity to give back to others, especially the hungry.
Three women from the community will open a part-time food pantry, beginning Wednesday.
Jeri Clark, Joyce Brown and Barbara Tosh came up with the idea from a health assessment meeting held in Valley Falls earlier this spring.
Some food pantries have restrictions and qualifications that need to be met for the families to qualify for pantry food.
Clark says there isn’t one for this pantry.

The pantry is located in the east wing of the Stewart Hardware Store and will be open every Wednesday and Saturday from 10 until noon.
If someone is unable to find transportation to the pantry, volunteers are available to deliver food to a residence.
The pantry will be affiliated with the Harvesters Community Food Network and will be tax exempt through the Valley Falls United Methodist Church.
