A three-vehicle accident on U.S. 77 Highway in Marshall County Monday evening claimed the life of a Texas man.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the accident occurred northwest of Marysville about 7:30 p.m.
46-year-old Curtis Dewayne Hall of Live Oak, Texas was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Patrol says Hall was traveling south when his car went into the west ditch. The vehicle then reentered the roadway, crossing the center line where he struck a northbound vehicle driven by 21-year-old Casey Carpenter of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Another northbound vehicle driven by 20-year-old Shelby Nichole Friedrichs of Topeka then struck Hall’s vehicle.
Carpenter was taken Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville and was later flown to Brian West Hospital in Lincoln.
The Patrol says Friedrichs and a passenger in her vehicle, 23-year-old Cory Alan Wienck of Marysville, were injured but not transported to a hospital.
The Patrol says Hall wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. It’s not known if any of the other occupants were.
