The City of Humboldt will pay for a portion of the cost of the new windows at the Auditorium. Following discussion Tuesday night, the city council decided to make a payment of $1,744 to Jim Hills of Falls City for the windows, which have been installed at the Auditorium.
The city had not expected to pay anything for the windows. The Auditorium Board had received a grant from the Nebraska Energy Office to cover the cost of installing the new energy-efficient windows, with the city serving a pass-through agency to receive and disburse the funds. However, the grant payment has yet to be received, so the council approved making the partial payment.
In other business, the council approved a motion to make street repairs at 10th and Edwards. The water main needs to be raised at that location.
The council approved a request from George Marburger to hold a celebration in honor of the 100th anniversary of the City Park Bandstand on May 25th.
Requests were also approved to allow the American Legion Auxiliary to use the Square for a Memorial Day Service on May 28th, and a request from Steve Svoboda for a liquor license for the Motor Sports Tractor Pull on June 15th.
