Highland Community College softball team as enjoyed another successful year and its not quite over for them as they head to the national tournament for the third straight year after winning the NJCAA Division II District E tournament crown, going perfect in the tournament.

The Scotties are currently 48-11 on the season and ranked eighth in the country right now. A big part of the success for the Scotties this past season was pitcher, Zuzana Kudernatschova. Kudernatschova was 27-5 on the season (before the final three games in the regional tournament) with an ERA of 0.37 with over 300 strikeouts on the year. Those numbers not only helped the Scotties to their successful season but garnered Kudernatschova the Most Valuable Player honor of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Eastern Division. Along with the MVP honor she was selected to the Eastern Division All-Conference First-Team, being the only Scottie selected to All-Conference honors.

In district tournament play Kudernatschova earned more honors to go along with her teams as the Scotties went 5-0 in district tournament play beating Coffeyville CC twice, Brown Mackie College and Johnson County CC twice to advance to the national tournament. Kudernatschova earned first team battery along with catcher, Kayla Gritt who was first team, also. On the field Megan Plouvier notched first team infielders honors, while Baylee Dillion and Megan Dortch each finished with second team infielders honors.

The Scotties are gearing up for the National NJCAA Division II tournament which will be May 17th-19th at Traceway Park in Clinton, Mississippi. The official bracket and pairings will be release on Monday the 14th.
