A two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Brown County east of Powhattan sent three people to the hospital.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the accident occurred at the intersection of 170th and Horned Owl Roads about 7:15 a.m.
The Patrol says 22-year-old Sidney Switch of Horton was driving a Pontiac Grand Am north on Horned Owl Road when he failed to yield the right-of-way at a posted stop sign to a westbound Toyota Camry on 170th Road driven by 29-year-old Jaime Terry of Robinson, and was broadsided by Terry’s vehicle.
Sidney Switch and a passenger in his car, 24-year-old Aaron Switch of Horton, were transported to the Hiawatha Community Hospital.
Terry was transported to the Horton Community Hospital where she was treated and released.
The Patrol says Terry was wearing a seat belt. However, Sidney and Aaron Switch were not.
