A 20-year-old from Seneca has been selected as one of 12 winners in Maurices Main Street Model Search.
Julie Sperfslage will model for the young women’s fashion retailer in an upcoming fashion campaign.
A graphic design major at Fort Hays State University, Sperfslage says wants to show younger girls and women in her town and all around the United States that if you have a dream to never lose sight of it because dreams do come true. Sperfslage will receive a photo shoot in an iconic fashion shoot destination, which will gain the winning 12 national exposure through Maurices stores and the store’s website.
She will also receive $1,500 in Maurices clothing and $7,500 charitable makeover for the Nemaha County Relay for Life, a nonprofit organization she has been involved with for several years...( play audio:13 secs )
This is the second year Maurices has held the contest. Sperfslage was one of more than 14-hundred women from the country who entered.
Online voters narrowed the search to the top 100. Maurices then chose 20 of the women to attend a casting call in Minneapolis, Minnesota last week. The judging panel from Maurices, including celebrity judge and Maurices designer Christopher Straub from Lifetime’s “ Project Runway” got to know each woman and selected the 12 winners.
