No action was taken during a special Hiawatha City Commission meeting this ( Monday ) morning.
Commissioners held an hour long closed-door session with Assistant City Attorney Hillary Boye to discuss attorney-client privilege. Police Chief Evans Woehlecke was also called briefly into the executive session. It’s not known if the meeting was in connection with the announcement last week that longtime Police Sgt. Laura Tollefson has been placed on administrative leave, pending investigation. The city still hasn’t disclosed whether Tollefson is on paid or unpaid leave.
City Administrator Lynne Ladner would only say last week that the leave is in accordance with the city’s personnel policy.
