An area teacher has been honored by Emporia State University.
Connie Ronnebaum was inducted into the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Hall of Honor at Emporia State on April 13th.
Ronnebaum is currently the health and physical education teacher at Nemaha Central USD 115, where she also coaches. She earned her Masters of Science in health, physical education and recreation from Emporia State in 1993.
Ronnebaum is activity in her community, serving on the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital Board of Trustees and as the co-director of the Axtell Emergency Medical Technicians, among other things.
Last year, the Kansas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance named Ronnebaum as the Secondary Physical Educator of the Year. By winning the award, she represented Kansas at the Central District level in the Teachers of the year competition.
