City of Horton water customers could feel affects from ongoing water line work underway in the city.
Completion of a new water main line in the northwest section of Horton is set to move forward Wednesday, requiring water to be disconnected from around 8 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon.
Once the service is restored, some city water may be contaminated, with residents north of 15th street and west of 1st Avenue East, including the Circle Drive area, advised to take necessary precautions.
If water is to be used for drinking or cooking, it should be boiled for at least five minutes.
City officials say buying bottled water, or using tap water outside the affected area, are suitable alternatives.
The health advisory will take affect Wednesday and remain in place until further notice.
Testing and monitoring will be conducted until the health advisory is lifted.
