A single-vehicle accident on U.S. 36 highway in Brown County Thursday evening sent a Virginia, Illinois man to the hospital.
Brown County Sheriff John Merchant says the accident was reported around 7:20 p.m. west of Hiawatha at the intersection of U.S. 36 and Goldfinch Road.
Merchant says the driver of the 2005 F350 Ford pickup, 49-year-old Doug Anderson, was flown to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
He says Anderson was traveling east on U.S. 36 when the accident occurred...( play audio )

The Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Brown County Rescue Squad, area fire Departments and Town and County Ambulance.
