More than 60 singers and musicians from a dozen area communities will combine their talents to present a Palm Sunday choral concert this weekend.
The program will include works from Handel’s “Messiah” along with contemporary arrangements of a cappella spirituals. Accompaniments will include a string quartet from Atchison, Kansas, pipe organ, and piano. Doug Kirkendall of Falls city is the pianist, while Ben Steffen of Humboldt will direct the program.
Falls City High School junior David Von Behren will be a featured guest, with a tenor solo, violin accompaniment and an organ solo.
Two concerts are scheduled this Sunday (April 1), at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., at the Humboldt United Methodist Church. Refreshments will be served in the church basement following each performance.
