A special meeting Thursday night, as members of the Jackson County Emergency Communications Committee met at the Jackson County Sheriff's office, discussing renovations of the County's 911 Center.
Sheriff Tim Morse says that work, expected to take effect later this year, is made possible through a federal grant recently received by the county. We told you earlier that the successful application for the grant was the third attempt made by the County to gain the FEMA monies, totaling $482,000. Morse says the success is due to a team effort undertaken by those departments to benefit from the funds.
The grant will allow the renovation of the 911 Center, while providing radio communications equipment to area fire departments.
