High marks for the South Brown County Schools, following the results of the latest audit conducted for USD 430.
CPA Brian (rhymes with pipe) Nyp has revealed to the Board of Education that the findings are good(Play Audio :28 seconds)
However, the Lawrence-based firm of Mize and Houser Company has identified two deficiencies that the district is recommended to review(Play Audio :32 seconds)
The two findings were minor, with the credit card issue stemming from those staff members who use district cards not signing an agreement of understanding on what is, and isn't allowed. The district has already begun to handle the two matters.
The second finding is simply to provide checks and balances for funds being paid into the district, specifically at school events, such as football or basketball games.
