Making their fifth straight state basketball tournament appearance, Nemaha Valley jumped to a 15-2 first quarter lead and held a 30-15 margin at halftime. The advantage was 35-28 into the fourth quarter, but Conway Springs (18-5) battled back and made it a one point game in the final :50, after back-to-back turnovers, Alex Hermesch convereted on a three-point-play and then added two free throws to put NV up 49-43 with :27 remaining. The Raiders held on for the 51-46 victory improving to 22-2 on the year and advancing to the state semifinals for the fifth straight season. Hermesch led everyone with 17 points while Creighton Brinker notched 14 points and 11 rebounds.
