A 22 Year old Sonoma, California man could face several months in prison after pleading guilty to an amended charge of felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell Friday in Atchison County Court.
Parke Montgomery made the agreement for the level three drug felony, which dismisses the other charges of no drug tax stamp, possession of drug paraphernalia and several traffic offenses. Montgomery was arrested October 14th by Atchison Police for a traffic stop. Upon search of his vehicle, officers found 15 pounds of high-grade marijuana in the trunk, known as "fluff." In the factual basis report, Montgomery says he was heading from California to Leavenworth to deliver the drugs. The estimated value of the marijuana is 15 thousand dollars. Montgomery could face 14 to 51 months in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for February 3rd.
