(KLZA)-- The Humboldt – Table Rock – Steinauer School Board heard an update on the building project underway at the Humboldt site when they met Monday evening. Superintendent Clint Kimbrough said the recent rain is slowing things up. Soil tests also indicated a need to dig out quite a bit of the clay-type base and replace it with good fill dirt to work with. It has taken several days to do the digging and they are still hauling in fill dirt.
Kimbrough noted production of the pre-poured cement walls for the addition, have also been delayed. Once the specs on where the outlets go and the windows will be are set, then approval is needed before they can be made. It is expected the walls will be ready to be set in place sometime in January.
Once the walls are built and delivered they set up very fast and at that point progress will be noticeable. The project is still on schedule to be completed in November or December of 2015.
