(KTNC)--A new exhibit will open Friday at the Stalder Gallery in the Falls City Library and Arts Center.
The exhibit “West of Last Chance” is on loan from the Museum of Nebraska Art in Kearney. It includes 31 photographs and accompanying texts from photographer Peter Brown and author Kent Haruf.
The works depict both the sparseness of the land and the urban life that is found in the miles spanning an area from the Dakotas to Texas, and Colorado to Iowa.
According to MONA curator Teliza Rodriguez, "The friendship between the author and photographer produced a stunning visual and literary collaboration that showcases the sometimes difficult and often assuming life and land of the Great Plains."
Gallery doors open at 6:00 p.m. Friday, with a reception and video display beginning at 7:00 p.m. The exhibit will be on display in the Stalder Gallery from Friday through October 10th.
