(KTNC) - The Interstate 229 Bridge in St. Joseph will be closed this week.
The Missouri Department of Transportation says the double-decker bridge will be completely closed beginning at seven o’clock this (Monday) morning for routing maintenance and inspections.
MoDOT crews will close both the top and bottom decks of the bridge, northbound and southbound, from Highland Avenue to U.S. Highway 36.
Crews will clean the bridge decks, perform routine maintenance, and inspect the bridge with a snooper truck.
Plans are to have the work complete by 6:00 p.m. Friday, and MoDOT says the bridge will be reopened to traffic each evening.
Plan an alternate route if you use that route. There will be no signed detour.
