(KAIR) -- Formal charges have been filed against two rural Atchison brothers in connection with an armed burglary Monday.
28-year-old Stephen Kinzer and 20-year-old Reagan Kinzer were each charged Wednesday in Atchison County District Court with felony counts of kidnapping, burglary, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit burglary, along with a misdemeanor count of theft.
Both made their first appearance in court where bond was set at $50,000 each. They are to make their next appearance in court September 7th.
Atchison County Attorney Gerald Kuckelman anticipates more charges could be filed.
Authorities say Stephen Kinzer is accused of entering an occupied home at 9249 Ottawa Road northwest of Atchison Monday morning.
When the homeowner, Tony Baker, returned home he was confronted at gunpoint and told to get on the ground. Kinzer allegedly fled the scene when Baker complied.
Authorities believe his brother, Reagan, was waiting nearby with a getaway car.
The Kinzer brothers were arrested Tuesday.
Both remain in the Atchison County Jail.
