Senate Candidate Kerrey Purchases Nebraska Home
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Democratic U.S. Senate Candidate Bob Kerrey is now a Nebraska homeowner again.
Kerrey's campaign spokesman Chris Triebsch said Wednesday that the former Nebraska governor and former U.S. Senator has bought a house in Omaha. He recently moved back to Nebraska from New York where he had lived since 2001.
Republicans questioned Kerrey's residency earlier this year, but the courts ruled that Kerrey would be allowed to run for office.
The residency questions arose after Kerrey initially registered to vote at his sister's Omaha address one day and then changed his address the next day to the home of an Omaha friend and campaign donor, who has offered Kerrey his guest home.
Kerrey is facing Republican state Sen. Deb Fisher of Valentine in the general election.
