Finance Director Mandy Cawby has announced her resignation to pursue a new position in the Kansas City metro.
Her last day in the office will be Wednesday.
Cawby has accepted the position of Communications Manager for WaterOne, based in Lenexa, Kansas.
WaterOne is the water service provider for the Johnson County area, serving over 400,000 people.
She begins her new position on June 1st.
Cawby says during her short time in Atchison, she believes city government has made great strides.

Her husband, Don, accepted the position of City Manager of Osawatomie, Kansas last August.
The couple will make their permanent residence in Osawatomie.
Cawby has been Finance Director with the City of Atchison since 2009, managing finances and communications.
The city says details on a search for Cawby’s replacement will be forthcoming.
