Pawnee County Commissioners opened bids for seven construction projects when they met Tuesday.
Construction bids ranged from $182,197 all the way up to $1,551,722 for the various projects. Bids for materials for projects ranged from $167,039 up to $202,043.
Byford Schmit, Dale Buman and Mike Korber, members of the Veterans Service Committee met with Commissioners and presented a drawing of the proposed Veteran’s Memorial to be placed on the northwest quadrant of the Courthouse grounds in Pawnee City. Commissioners approved the resolution for the design and location of the memorial.
Pam Armknect with Southeast Nebraska Community Action met with Commissioners regarding SENCA’s request for funds in the amount of $4,205 for 2012-13. The request was approved.
Johnson County Emergency Manager Clint Strayhorn and Pawnee County Emergency Manager Mike Wilcox met with Commissioners in regards to the issues with the new contact service. Strayhorn said he is in the process of implementing a new system.
Commissioners also approved repairs for the lowboy for the Road Department and use of the Courthouse lawn and first floor of the Courthouse for the April 7th Easter Egg Hunt.
