(KLZA)-- The Nemaha Natural Resources District will receive a $287,000 grant from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, to improve a pesky two-mile stretch of the trail located between the Weldon Creek bridge and Honey Creek bridge north of Brownville.
The project involves correcting drainage problems which cause ruts to the limestone trail surface and adding a concrete surface where drainage solutions aren’t feasible. This stretch not only poses a safety hazard to trail users but also causes an unpleasant bike riding experience that just might rattle your teeth fillings loose.
The expected time frame for this project is for the drainage improvements to be completed by the end of this fall and for the concrete work to be completed sometime next summer.
