(KTNC)-- A portion of the Steamboat Trace Trail is closed due to flooding. The Nemaha Natural Resources District has closed the trail from Peru to Brownville due to expected flooding of the Missouri River.
If the river crests and falls as projected, NRD officials say the trail should be reopened sometime this week.
The time the trail is closed could be extended should significant rain fall in Nebraska, Iowa, or southeast South Dakota.
