(KTNC) - More snow is predicted to fall in Nebraska less than a week after a major snowstorm moved through the region.
The National Weather Service says light snow is expected across southeast Nebraska, mainly tonight. The highest chance for snow is near the Missouri border. The snow may be accompanied by 15-to-20 mile per hour winds, which could create some blowing and drifting of snow and reduced visibilities.
Light snow accumulation, of less than two inches, is expected from Tuesday into Wednesday.
A winter storm warning remains in effect until noon Tuesday for portions of northeast Kansas, including Brown County. Snowfall of five to nine inches is expected in areas north of Interstate 70.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3:00 p.m. today (Monday) through 3:00 p.m. Tuesday for far northwest Missouri, where three to six inches of snow is expected. Snow is expected to begin falling late this afternoon or evening and continue through the day on Tuesday. Strong wind gusts of 30 miles per hour could create whiteout conditions in some areas by Tuesday morning.
