Winter Storm Expected to Affect Northern Missouri
12/18/2012

The National Weather Service says a “very powerful” winter storm could bring some significant snowfall to northern Missouri Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Meteorologist Matthew Dukes says the storm was expected to develop Monday night over the west coast.  (play audio  :23     “Thursday morning.”)
The Weather Service says the system will bring thunderstorms to the southern plains, heavy snow to the northern plains and in the middle will be Missouri.  Dukes says the chance for accumulating snow in the state will be across the northern third of Missouri.  (play audio  :20    “Thursday morning.”)
Dukes explains what makes this a major storm.  (play audio  :28   “north of Missouri.”)
Dukes says a lot could change before the storm gets here.  (play audio  :31   “a certain way.”)
